2007 NWVW class
By 2007 it seemed as if every news manager realized that video was needed beyond the traditional broadcast envelope.
The first workshop was created to address the surge of requests in newsrooms to produce videos and help develop a basic understanding of video storytelling. The intense two-day workshop brought together 40 people from around the region to learn basic shooting, editing and production techniques to build upon.
The 2007 Northwest Video Workshop succeeded as a video training bootcamp offering invaluable tips for everyday journalists. Without the help from YH-R staff volunteers, excellent speakers/trainers and the significant support of journalism groups, universities and sponsors, the workshop goals would not have been accomplished.
